The newsletter is sent via “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as other data described within this data protection notice, are stored on the servers of „ MailChimp” in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp can use the data to optimize and to improve their own performance and efficiency, e.g. for the technical optimization of the distribution and the presentation of the newsletter or for commercial purposes, in order to determine the home country of the recipient. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to to contact them directly or to pass on the data to third parties. Double Opt-In  and record keeping
The registration process for our newsletter is implemented through a so called Double-Opt-In Procedure. This means that after registration you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can log in with non-registered e-mail addresses. Subscriptions to the newsletter are recorded in order to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Furthermore, MailChimp will record the modification of your data as well.

Registration Details
To subscribe to the newsletter, it is sufficient to enter your vailid e-mail address. Optionally, we ask you to provide your first name and last name. This information is only used to personalize the newsletter.

Statistical Evaluation and Analyses
The newsletters contain a so called “web-beacon”. The web-beacon is a pixel sized file, that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. The following technical data is in routinely collected in the course of the retrieval: information about the browser and your system, your IP address and the time of the retrieval. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times. The statistical evaluations also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked.
For technical reasons, this information can be associated with the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our endeavor, nor that of MailChimp, to monitor individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of our users.

Online access and data management
There are cases, in which we direct the newsletter recipients to the web pages of MailChimp. For example, our newsletters contain a link with which the newsletter recipients can access the newsletters online. (e.g. in case of display problems in the e-mail program) Furthermore, newsletter recipients can subsequently correct their data, e.g. the e-mail address. The privacy policy of MailChimp is only available on their site. In this context we point out that Cookies are used on the websites of MailChimp and thus personal data are processed by MailChimp, its partners and assigned service providers (e.g. google analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in the privacy policy of MailChimp. In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the possibilities of objecting to the collection of data for promotional purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).

Cancellation/Revocation
You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. Your consents to its distribution via MailChimp and the statistical analyses will expire at the same time. A separate cancellation of the distribution via MailChimp or the statistical evaluation is unfortunately not possible. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.
